Pamukkale Tour from Kusadasi

Located in the Denizli Province of western Turkey, Pamukkale is a natural wonder that draws thousands of tourists every year. The name “Pamukkale” literally means “cotton castle” in Turkish, and it’s easy to see why. The stunning white travertine deposits that make up the area resemble a snowy hill from a distance, but upon closer inspection, they are actually a series of thermal waterfalls.

The travertines at Pamukkale were created by the depositing of calcium carbonate by thermal water, and they stretch for an impressive 160 meters in height and 2,700 meters in length. Visitors can walk along the travertines and experience the unique sensation of walking on water. However, it’s important to note that guests must be able to walk approximately half a mile over the travertines without shoes. A hat and plenty of sunscreens are also recommended, as shade is limited in the area.

In addition to the natural beauty of Pamukkale, the area is also home to the ancient city of Hierapolis. Founded in the 2nd century BC by Eumenes II, King of Pergamum, Hierapolis was later attached to the Asia province of the Roman Empire and became an important religious center in the 4th century AD. It was also the place where Philip, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ, is believed to have died.

A tour of Pamukkale from Kusadasi is the perfect way to experience this incredible natural wonder and learn more about its rich history. Keep in mind that the itinerary for the tour may vary to avoid congestion, and it’s important to watch your step at all times to avoid injuries as the waterfalls can be slippery. It is also recommended for guests with walkers or wheelchairs to the waterfalls. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit to walk in the water at Pamukkale, also known as the “petrified waterfalls.”

The price listed is based on a per-person rate for a minimum of four adults participating in the tour. This indicates that if there are fewer or higher than four adults, the cost may be different. You can fill out the inquiry form to get your customized itinerary and rates.

My itinerary was slightly adjusted, as I was staying in Kusadasi but the folks from Ephesian Tourism were able to accommodate me well. Guray our guide was delightful guide and skillfully took us to all the major sites with plenty of time for our swim at the end. Be careful on the calcium build ups! They are super slick and can be dangerous. I saw plenty of people slipping around and those rocks are hard when you fall! Also, do yourself a favor and splurge by going to the paid thermal spring pool. The thermal springs are delightfully warm and reinvigorating. The public, non paying pool is down stream from the pay pool. After speaking with our tour mates, the water is cold by the time it makes its' way downhill!

Visited the Cotton Castle Pamukkale with my husband in this summer. Our tour guide was Salma from ready2.be. Such a wonderful experience. Pamukkale is truly a beautiful gift of nature from The Almighty. Our trip was made even more wonderful by Salma. A very patient & energetic & lovely lady full of stories, explanations & ever so willing to help us snap the couple pictures. She also gave us time to look for pomegranate juice. Luv U Ceren. U truly added joy to our trip! The ride was also very comfortable with enuf WC & tea breaks. Thank you Ephesian !

I did both the Pamukkale and Ephesus tour with our driver and tour guide Ceren. Ceren was an exceptional tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the places we went. She was energetic, enthusiastic and attentive which was brilliant as I was travelling on my own. Salma made me feel welcome and was very helpful. Couldn’t recommend enough. Ceren is a little piece of sunshine and her English is easy to understand. She made sure everyone felt included. Only reason I wouldn’t give 5/5 is due to visits to onyx, leather places etc they’re lovely to see but I always feel guilty when I don’t buy anything! Ceren told us that we were under no obligation to buy but still makes me feel bad. Good job Ceren x
