One of the highlights of the tour is a visit to the House of the Virgin Mary, a sacred site for both Roman Catholics and Muslims. Located on Mount Bulbul, the house was discovered in the 19th century and is believed to be where Mary, the mother of Jesus, lived out the final years of her life, cared for by St. John. The cruciform building, which features a dome, has been restored in modern times and is a popular place of pilgrimage for Christians, who also believe that the spring water at the site has therapeutic powers.

In addition to its rich history, the tour also takes you to the charming village of Sirince, located just 12 km from Ephesus and 30 km from Kusadasi. Originally called Cirkince (“ugly” in Turkish), the village was given its current name of Sirince (“pretty”) by visitors who were charmed by its beauty. Sirince is known for its locally produced wines and olive oils, as well as its garden, produce and offers breathtaking views of olive groves and lush countryside on the way to the village. Visit this beauty in Selcuk Ephesus Private Tour!

So, it is a must-see destination for anyone interested in the rich history and cultural heritage of the region.

One of the most sacred sites in Ephesus is the House of the Virgin Mary, located on Bulbul Mountain. This stone house is believed to be where the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus, lived out the final years of her life, cared for by St. John. It is considered a place of pilgrimage by Christians and is also revered by Muslims as a sacred site. Many people visit the House of the Virgin Mary to pay their respects and honor the memory of Mary, who is an important figure in both Christian and Muslim traditions.

Experience a taste of local Turkish culture by enjoying an open buffet lunch at a traditional restaurant. Afterward, you'll have the opportunity to visit a carpet cooperative and witness firsthand the intricate process of hand-making Turkish carpets. Nestled in the hills above Selcuk town in the Izmir province of Turkey is the charming village of Sirince. With its old wooden houses with red-tiled roofs and fresh, crisp air, Sirince is a delightful place to visit. Originally built by Greeks, the village was later settled by Turks from Thessalonica following the population exchange between Turkey and Greece in 1923. Today, Sirince thrives on agriculture and tourism, producing olive oil, wine, and various fruit, as well as offering a rare and attractive example of Ottoman Turkish architecture. As you wander through Sirince, you'll be transported back in time to the 19th century, with its locally produced wine, traditional cuisine, and authentic lifestyle. Wonderfull !!

What a memorable day it was... Our private tour pick up was in a nice Mercedes van... We first stopped for lunch at Pasha and had lunch between a beautiful garden amongst peacocks! We are vegetarians and they had prepared a sumptuous meal for us... The food was very good! After lunch the same place also gave a small demo on carpet weaving and it was fascinating to say the least... Our next stop was the city of ephesus followed by the temple of artemis and finally sirince Village....Our guide for the day, Mehmet, was brilliant throughout the tour... He explained everything in detail and there was never a dull moment... His knowledge about his country and the rich history is superb... I recommend that one spends a good amount of time in Sirince Village... It's very peaceful and is truly beautiful... Thanks Ceren for organising the tour and thanks Orçun for a memorable time.
