The Seven Churches of Revelation Tour in 3 Days is a private journey to all seven churches of Asia Minor addressed in the Book of Revelation — Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamon, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea — starting and ending at Izmir Airport. Along the way you also visit the House of the Virgin Mary, the Basilica of St. John and Hierapolis above the travertines of Pamukkale.
The routing reflects how we actually operate this tour:
- One loop with overnights in Pamukkale and Bergama — all seven sites in three touring days, without doubling back
- A morning arrival in Izmir and an evening departure flight on Day 3 keep the program complete; if your flights do not fit, the 4-, 5- and 6-day versions add an arrival or departure day

Day 1 House of the Virgin Mary – Ephesus – Basilica of St. John – Hierapolis
Meet your guide at Izmir Airport on a morning arrival and drive to the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally the place where Mary spent her final years in the care of the Apostle John. Continue to Ephesus Ancient City, the first of the Seven Churches and the city where Paul lived and preached for several years, past the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian and the Great Theater. Visit the Basilica of St. John over the Apostle’s traditional tomb, then drive to Pamukkale for Hierapolis and the white travertine terraces. Overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 2 Laodicea – Philadelphia – Sardis – Thyatira
After breakfast, visit Laodicea, the wealthy city warned against lukewarm faith, where excavated churches, colonnaded streets and theaters still stand. Continue to Philadelphia (Alasehir), the faithful church that kept Christ’s word, and see the surviving remains of its Christian community. In Sardis, the old Lydian capital called to wake up and strengthen what remained, explore the Temple of Artemis and the city’s monuments. End the day at Thyatira, praised for its love and perseverance, then continue to Bergama. Overnight in Bergama.

Day 3 Pergamon – Smyrna – Izmir Airport
After breakfast, climb to the Acropolis of Pergamon, home of the church that held fast under persecution, with its temples and steep theater above the plain. Drive to Izmir to visit the Ancient Agora of Smyrna, the setting of the church encouraged to remain faithful even in the face of death. At the end of the tour, transfer to Izmir Airport. Schedule your departure flight for around 20:00 or later so the full program can be completed.

Three days covers the whole route. The Seven Churches of Revelation, the House of the Virgin Mary, the Basilica of St. John and Hierapolis are in every version of this journey; the longer ones add space around the sightseeing rather than more sites. There are three, and what changes in each is where the extra nights sit.
4 Days - An Arrival Day Added
On the three-day journey you land at Izmir in the morning and the sightseeing begins the same day. The four-day version sets that first day aside: a private transfer to Kusadasi, the rest of the day at leisure, and sightseeing from the following morning. The three touring days that follow cover the same ground.

5 Days - An Arrival Day and a Departure Day
The same three touring days, with a night at each end. The final touring day finishes with an overnight in Izmir rather than a drive to the airport, so the last day belongs to your departure, with time at leisure depending on your flight.

6 Days - A Fourth Touring Day
The only version where the extra nights change the sightseeing itself rather than the days around it. The House of the Virgin Mary, Ephesus and the Basilica of St. John keep a day of their own, ending with a second night in Kusadasi instead of continuing to Pamukkale that evening. The remaining sites are spread across the three days that follow.

Where does the tour start and end, and which flights should we book?
The tour starts and ends at Izmir Airport. Plan a morning arrival on Day 1 — the program begins around 08:00 — and a departure flight from Izmir at around 20:00 or later on Day 3, so all seven churches fit into the three days. Domestic and international flights are not included. If your flights do not fit these times, choose the 4-, 5- or 6-day version described under Alternative Durations.
Is this a private tour, and can we book for just two people?
Yes. Two people can book this tour, and the sightseeing and ground transportation are arranged for your party only; you are never combined with another group. See the Tour Rates section for per-person prices by party size. Solo travelers and larger groups receive a personalized quotation.
Is 3 days enough to see all seven churches?
Yes, but the days are full. The route runs as one loop — Ephesus and Hierapolis on Day 1, the four inland churches on Day 2, Pergamon and Smyrna on Day 3 — so no church is skipped and no day doubles back. Depending on the day’s timing, your guide may swap the order of Laodicea and Hierapolis. Philadelphia and Thyatira are small sites within modern towns, while Ephesus, Laodicea, Sardis and Pergamon are large excavated cities. For more time at the sites, the 6-day version gives Ephesus a day of its own.
Is the House of the Virgin Mary included?
Yes. The House of the Virgin Mary is the first visit on Day 1, followed by Ephesus and the Basilica of St. John, which stands over the Apostle John’s traditional burial place. Entrance fees for all three are included.
Which hotels are used and what meals are included?
You stay one night in Pamukkale and one in Bergama in handpicked hotels, with dinner and breakfast at the hotels. Lunch is served at local restaurants on all three days. Drinks with meals are not included. Hotel details come with your personalized day-by-day program after you send the inquiry form.
Are the tours guided by biblical experts?
Yes. A professional English-speaking biblical guide leads the sightseeing, reads the letter from Revelation 2–3 at each of the seven churches and connects the archaeology to the scripture. Pastors and group leaders can add time for prayer and worship when we plan the program together.
How much walking is required?
A moderate amount. Each day includes several hours on foot at archaeological sites with uneven ancient surfaces, and the Acropolis of Pergamon involves steeper terrain. Comfortable walking shoes are essential; the pace is private, so your guide can adjust it to your group.
What’s included in the price?
The price includes 2 nights of accommodation, meals as listed in the program, private airport transfers and ground transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, a professional biblical guide on sightseeing days, entrance fees and local taxes.
