Tour Description
The Seven Churches of Revelation Tour in 7 Days is a private journey to all seven churches of Asia Minor addressed in the Book of Revelation — Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamon, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea — combined with three days in Istanbul.
Before flying west into Asia Minor, you will stand in the Hagia Sophia, visit the Ecumenical Patriarchate, and walk the historic Christian quarters of Fener and Balat.
The routing reflects how we actually operate this tour:
- Overnights in Kusadasi, Pamukkale, Bergama, and Izmir in sequence — all seven sites in three focused touring days, without doubling back across Anatolia
- Both domestic flights included, with 25 kg checked luggage
- Licensed English-speaking biblical guide, entrance fees, and private air-conditioned vehicles throughout
- Fully private sightseeing — only the Bosphorus cruise operates on a shared public boat
On the road, the journey follows the biblical text on site: Revelation readings at each of the seven churches, the House of the Virgin Mary and Basilica of St. John near Ephesus, and Hierapolis (Colossians 4:13) above the white travertines of Pamukkale.

Tour Program
Day 1 Istanbul Arrival – Turkish Breakfast – Byzantine & Ottoman Heritage Tour
Welcome to Turkey. Upon arrival at Istanbul Airport, meet our representative and start with a traditional Turkish breakfast at a local restaurant — cheeses, olives, fresh bread, eggs, and Turkish tea. Then explore the historic Old City with your guide: the Hippodrome, center of public life in Byzantine Constantinople; the Blue Mosque with its elegant domes; and Hagia Sophia, built as the great cathedral of the Byzantine Empire and shaped by centuries of Christian and Ottoman history. Transfer to your hotel for check-in. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 2 Christian Heritage of Constantinople – Fener & Balat
Discover the Christian heritage of Constantinople, beginning at the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Patriarchal Church of St. George, the spiritual center of the Eastern Orthodox world. Continue to the Church of St. Mary of the Mongols, one of the few Byzantine churches in continuous use since before the Ottoman conquest, and see the landmark Phanar Greek Orthodox College. Walk the colorful streets of Fener and Balat, visit the cast-iron Bulgarian St. Stephen Church, and end at the Church of St. Mary of Blachernae, a major Marian pilgrimage site of the Byzantine period. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 3 Istanbul Half Day Tour / Fly / Izmir – Kusadasi
Begin at the Spice Bazaar, one of Istanbul’s most colorful markets, then enjoy a Bosphorus Cruise with panoramic views of palaces, waterfront mansions, and the meeting point of Europe and Asia — please note the cruise operates on a shared public boat. In the afternoon, transfer to Istanbul Airport for your domestic flight to Izmir, where your driver meets you for the private transfer to Kusadasi. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Day 4 Ephesus – House of Virgin Mary – Basilica of St. John – Hierapolis
After an early breakfast, visit the House of the Virgin Mary, traditionally believed to be where Mary spent her final years in the care of the Apostle John (John 19:26–27). Continue to Ephesus Ancient City, the first of the Seven Churches (Revelation 2:1–7) and the stage of Paul’s ministry in Acts 19 — walk its marble streets past the Library of Celsus, Temple of Hadrian, and the Great Theater (approximately 2–2.5 hours). Visit the Basilica of St. John, built over the Apostle’s traditional burial place, then drive to Pamukkale to explore Hierapolis (Colossians 4:13) above the white travertine terraces. Overnight in Pamukkale.
Day 5 Laodicea – Philadelphia – Sardis – Thyatira
A full day among four of the Seven Churches. Start at Laodicea, the wealthy city warned of lukewarm faith (Revelation 3:14–22) and mentioned in Colossians 4:13–16. Continue to Philadelphia, the faithful church that kept Christ’s word (Revelation 3:7–13), then to Sardis, capital of ancient Lydia, called to awaken and strengthen what remained (Revelation 3:1–6) — including the Temple of Artemis. End at Thyatira (Revelation 2:18–29), commended for love, faith, and perseverance. Continue to Bergama for check-in. Overnight in Bergama.
Day 6 Pergamon – Smyrna
Begin at Pergamon, biblical Pergamum, the church that held fast despite persecution (Revelation 2:12–17) — explore the dramatic Acropolis of Pergamon with its steep theater and temple terraces overlooking the plain. Continue to Izmir, ancient Smyrna, the suffering church encouraged to be faithful unto death (Revelation 2:8–11), and visit the Ancient Agora of Smyrna, one of the best-surviving remains of the Roman city where the early Christian community lived. Overnight in Izmir.
Day 7 Izmir Departure / Fly to Istanbul
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Izmir Airport for your domestic flight to Istanbul, where our services conclude with the memories of seven churches, two ancient capitals, and the living heritage of biblical Asia Minor.

Tour FAQ
What is the Seven Churches of Revelation Tour in 7 Days?
It is a private 7-day journey through Turkey covering all seven churches addressed in the Book of Revelation — Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamon, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea — plus three days in Istanbul exploring Byzantine Constantinople and its living Christian heritage. The tour runs with a licensed biblical guide, private vehicles, and two domestic flights included.
Can I customize the tour itinerary?
Yes. This is a fully private tour, and the program shown is a starting point — hotels, pace, sightseeing, and travel dates can all be adjusted to your preferences. Complete the inquiry form with your dates and interests, and our operation team will shape the route around them.
How do we travel between Istanbul and the seven churches?
By two included domestic flights and private vehicle. You fly Istanbul–Izmir on Day 3 and Izmir–Istanbul on Day 7, each with 25 kg checked and 8 kg cabin luggage. On the ground, a private air-conditioned vehicle carries you between the sites, with overnights in Kusadasi, Pamukkale, Bergama, and Izmir so no day requires doubling back.
Which hotels are used and what meals are included?
You stay 6 nights in the hotels named in the itinerary or similar: Istanbul and Izmir on bed & breakfast basis, and Kusadasi, Pamukkale, and Bergama on half-board basis. Breakfast is included daily, lunch and dinner are included on the touring days between Kusadasi and Izmir, and Day 1 opens with a traditional Turkish breakfast in Istanbul.
Are the tours guided by biblical experts?
Yes. Sightseeing days are led by a professional English-speaking biblical guide who reads the relevant Revelation passages on site at each of the seven churches and connects the archaeology to the scripture.
What do we visit besides the seven churches?
The Istanbul days cover Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the churches of Fener and Balat, the Spice Bazaar, and a Bosphorus Cruise. Around Ephesus you also visit the House of the Virgin Mary and the Basilica of St. John, and in Pamukkale the ancient city of Hierapolis above the travertine terraces.
How much walking is required?
A moderate amount. Most days include several hours on foot at archaeological sites with uneven ancient surfaces, and the Acropolis of Pergamon involves steeper terrain. Comfortable walking shoes are essential; the pace is private, so your guide can adjust it to your group.
I have already booked my hotel or don’t want accommodation — can I still join?
Yes. The tour can be arranged on a land-only basis with your own accommodation. Complete the inquiry form with your hotel details, and we will send a revised itinerary and rate.
What’s included in the price?
The rate covers 6 nights of accommodation, meals per the itinerary codes, both domestic flights, private airport transfers and ground transportation, a professional biblical guide on sightseeing days, entrance fees, and local taxes. International flights, travel insurance, beverages during meals, personal expenses, and gratuities are not included.
